What is the difference between a certificate, diploma, certification, and accreditation?

The WPGA offers students a chance to become diplomates or a person holding a diploma from an educational institution.

A diploma is a more in-depth education than a certificate, completing a tested course through a licensed educational institution. Diplomas and certificates from educational institutions are federally recognized as an awarded educational achievement.

Certification is awarded through an organization or a company, not an educational institution; it is based around the industry and typically requires membership or employment to maintain the certification.

Accreditation is provided by independent organizations that evaluate conformity for certification organizations for recognized standards and demonstration of competence.

Looking for Finance Options to Pay for Training?

  • Private Bank Lending

We have relationships with local banks for private lending.

UMass Five, Meredith Village Savings Bank and Service Credit Union work with potential students.

  • State Vocational Rehabilitation

New Hampshire offers support through several vocational systems. This is an excellent resource for NH students with an IEP or 504 Plan; the VOC works similarly to those programs. Every state has one, which can be used for online and in-person courses.
